Like many people in later life, I wish I had got my teeth straightened when I was younger. It always lurked there in the background and I know it needed doing but, well, just never got around to it. You get married, have kids and there are other things that are always more important.
It suddenly hits you at some point that you could have got it out of the way so many years ago. For all those years you could have had the perfect smile instead of hiding away. But the good news is that it is never too late.
When you go for that first nerve-wracking visit to the orthodontist and see those dental xrays on the cosmetic dentistry guide, you wish you had not left it so late. But that is no reason not to go through with it. At forty or fifty years of age, getting your teeth fixed can have a marked improvement on your confidence and quality of life.
No, it is not going to make me into a supermodel (bit late for that...), but at least it will give me the confidence to talk to people and smile.
